SHOCKING: Family members mourn the loss of 19-year-old Alexandra ‘Shandra’ Gomes, who was shot to death early yesterday morning in Dorchester.

Distraught neighbors of Alexandra Gomes console one another after the shooting death early yesterday morning of the young mother.

A teenage mother was shot to death in a hail of gunfire that left her younger sister and three others wounded in Dorchester early yesterday, police and sources said.

Friends and family identified the slain woman as Alexandra “Shandra” Gomes, 19, a Cape Verdean mother of a 17-month-old girl. The four remaining victims - all shot multiple times, according to cops - are expected to survive.

A man who was shot is suspected as the shooter, a source said.

Gomes was not known to police, according to another source.

“She’s a beautiful young woman. We love her and we love her family,” said peace activist Isaura Mendes outside the Gomes family’s Glendale Street home yesterday afternoon, where loud sobs echoed from inside.

Boston police Superintendent Bruce Holloway said cops responded at 2:24 a.m. to a radio call for gunfire at 6 Elder St. and were told at the scene that five victims were already on their way to two area hospitals. A large pool of blood still marked the scene yesterday afternoon.

An hour and a half prior to the shooting, cops were called to the same street to break up a loud party and a 16-year-old was arrested for underage possession of booze.

Boston police spokesman officer James Kenneally said cops are investigating whether the victims attended the party.

Gomes was pronounced dead at Boston Medical Center, where an 18-year-old woman also was treated. Holloway said that victim is related to the murdered woman. Sources said they were sisters. Also treated at BMC was a30-year-old man.

Friends of Gomes who remembered her as a devoted mother could barely contain their anger.

“There’s gonna be a girl growing up without a mother,” shouted one woman. “Whoever did that, they’re gonna get theirs. She’s somebody’s mother, sister, best friend. What did she ever do to anybody?”

Mendes, who lost two sons to street violence, denied that Gomes’ killing would spur retaliation.

“They’re just in pain. They’re not going to do anything,” she said.

The bloodshed continued last night when three men were shot shortly after 7 p.m. at Humboldt Avenue and Homestead Street. All were taken to BMC and expected to survive, Kenneally said.

Cops urged anyone with information to call the Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470. To remain anonymous, call CrimeStoppers at 800-494-TIPS or text the word TIP to CRIME (27463).
