PLYMOUTH -- John Gomes Jr., 63, of Carver died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at Jordan Hospital after a brief illness.

He was the husband of Janice Ann (Silva) Gomes.

Born in Canton, Ohio, he was the son of the late John and Alexandria (Perry) Gomes.

Mr. Gomes had been a ship fitter and later a foreman at General Dynamics in Quincy.

He retired as a truck driver for T.L. Edwards of Avon.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Carver.

He enjoyed sports, especially the Red Sox, and liked to use his computer.

Survivors include his widow; a son, John V. Gomes of Carver; a daughter, LeAnn Gomes of Carver; a brother, Nelson Fontes of Carver; and a sister, Joanne Mendes of Middleboro; a grandson, Jared Gomes of Carver; and several nieces and nephews.
