He was the husband of Elizabeth (Andrews) Gloria. Born and raised in Woonsocket, R.I., the son of the late Rosa (Pina) and John Gloria Sr., he lived in Hanson for 36 years and the past two years in Taunton. Mr. Gloria was a retired computer draftsman for Proctor and Gamble. He was a graduate of Woonsocket schools and Wentworth Institute, Boston. He followed the Drum and Bugle Corps competitions and enjoyed fishing, woodworking and crossword puzzles. He served in the Navy and Coast Guard. Survivors include his widow; a son, Jeffery Gloria of San Diego; a daughter, Melissa G. Tobias of Hanson; a son-in-law; five sisters, Aurora Dias and Mary Costa, both of Taunton, and Rose Adrade, Evelyn Adrade and Eugenia Santa Anna, all of Rhode Island; a granddaughter, Kaitlynn Tobias; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late John E. Gloria and Gail L. Gloria and brother of four late brothers and two late sisters. His funeral will be at 9:15 a.m. Saturday from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street, Whitman, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph the Worker Church, Hanson. Burial will be in Fern Hill Cemetery, Hanson. |
