| Benjamin P. Gomes | | |  GOMES, BENJAMIN P., 86, of Arnold St. Providence died Saturday April 18, 2009 at Miriam Hospital.
He was born in Brava, Cape Verde Islands, a son of the late Quirino and Carlota (Pereira) Gomes. He came to the United States in Jan. of 1976 settling in Prov. He worked for 10 years at the Imperial Knife Co. of Prov. before retiring. He was a member of C.V. Club. Mr. Gomes leaves behind a sister Domingas Montrond of Prov. and many loving nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel, Jose, Ernesto, Julio & Joao Gomes. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 7:45 am from the Merrick R. Williams Funeral Home, 530 Smithfield Ave., Pawtucket with a Mass of Christian burial at 9 am in Our Lady of The Rosary Church 21 Traverse St. Prov. Calling hours Tuesday 5-8 pm.
