| Antonia Ana (Brito) Gomes | | | | GOMES Antonia Ana (Brito) Gomes, age 55 of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest Sunday, April 12, 2009 at St. Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport with her loving family by her side. Born in the Cape Verde Islands, February 24, 1954, she was a Bridgeport resident for 14 years. Antonia was a machine operator for the Trumbull Printing Co. Survivors include her beloved husband, Jose Gomes; her loving children, Carlos Gomes and Elsa Gomes, all of Bridgeport; her parents, Anibal F. Brito of Pennsylvania. and Ana Antonia Varela of the Cape Verde Islands; three brothers, Antonio, Manuel and Amadue Santiage, all of Portugal; two sisters, Maria Brito and Arsenia Santiage, both of Portugal; and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend the funeral Friday, April 17, 2009 at 9 a.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport and at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Cathedral with a Mass of the Christian Burial. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
