Ana Maria GomesGOMES, ANA MARIA, 81, of Julian St. died April 3, 2009 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Joaquim J. Gomes. Born in Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde Island, she was the daughter of the late Roque N. and Maria P. (Brito) Almeida. 

She is survived by her children; Maria da Luz of Central Falls, Orlando Gomes and Alexandra Monteiro both of Providence, Jose Gomes of Pawtucket, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. She was the sister of Jose, Silveiro and Angela Almeida all of Cape Verde Island, Lucia Almeida of Brazil and Augusta Soares of VA. She was the sister of the late Luis, Raul and Augusto Almeida.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:45AM from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 99 Camp St. Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.
