| Alice R. Goncalves | | | GONCALVES, ALICE R., 71, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at her home. She was the wife of the late Alfredo S. Goncalves.
Born in Assomada, Santiago, Cape Verde, a daughter of the late Joao Ribeiro and Constancia Garcia Sanches de Brito. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Church.
She is survived by two sons, Olivio and Euclides Goncalves, and two daughters, Maria and Lucidia Goncalves. She was the mother of the late Emanuel Goncalves; and grandmother of fifteen and great-grandmother of 3. She was sister of Cecilia, Elisa and Ana Ribeiro, all of Assomada, Santiago, Cape Verde.
Calling Hours will be held Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Jones-Walton-Sheridan Funeral Home, 1895 Broad St. at Park Ave., Cranston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Oxford St., Providence. Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
