YOLANDA M. (GOMES) Da CRUZ, 50, of Stonybridge Drive, a retired insurance specialist, died Friday at Roger Williams Medical Center, Providence.

She was the wife of Pedro Da Cruz. Born in San Niclau, Cape Verde, a daughter of Antonia (Andrade) Gomes of Lincoln, and the late Joaquim Gomes, she had lived in Providence and Pawtucket before moving to Lincoln 19 years ago.

Mrs. Da Cruz had been a renewal specialist, and later, an underwriting specialist at Amica Insurance in Providence and Lincoln, for 30 years before retiring in 2002.

She was a communicant of St. Jude Church, and was actively involved with breast-cancer awareness.

Besides her husband and mother, she leaves a daughter, Jennifer Da Cruz-Washington of Conyers, Ga.; a son, Bryant C. Da Cruz of Richmond; two sisters, Idalina Dos Reis and Arcangela Lopes, both of East Providence; two brothers, Francisco Gomes of Providence and John Gomes of Pawtucket; and a grandson. She was the mother of the late Peter Junior Da Cruz.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. from Bellows- Falso Funeral Chapel, 160 River Rd., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Jude Church, 301 Front St. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
