Born in Marion, Mr. Britte was a resident of Providence and East Providence, R.I., for many years before moving to West Wareham in 1996. Mr. Britte was a sheet metal mechanic for Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut, as well as Quonset Point and Electric Boat in Rhode Island. He retired in 1989 from Electric Boat. Mr. Britte was the Equal Employment Opportunity officer for Providence. Mr. Britte was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Verdean Vets of New Bedford and the C.V. Club in East Providence. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Andrade of Johnston, R.I., and Antonette Gomes of St. Cloud, Fla.; three sisters, Madeline Santos of Lakeland, Fla., Helen Texeira of Marion and Julia Tripp of Marion; a grandson, Terrell Britte of Johnston; and his companion, Delores Silva of West Wareham. He was the brother of the late Mary Fernandes, Manuel Britte and Joseph Britte. Services will be private.
