| Henrique J. Goncalves | | |  WAREHAM — Henrique J. Goncalves, 83, of Wareham, died December 5, 2008 in Tobey Hospital.
He was the husband of Jennie A. (Barros) Goncalves. They were married for 55 years.
He was the son of the late Jose R. and Angelica (Lomba) Goncalves.
He was born in Brava, Cape Verde Islands and moved to Wareham in 1953.
Mr. Goncalves worked as a supervisor at Ocean Spray Cranberry Company for 35 years before retiring.
He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church.
He enjoyed gardening and traveling. He was a great handyman.
He enjoyed being with his family especially his grandsons and great grandson.
Survivors include his widow; 2 sons, Henrique J. Gonsalves, Jr. and his wife, Joy of Onset and David Mendes of Spain; 2 daughters, Deborah L. Goncalves and her friend, Howard Wade of San Francisco and Candida Lobo of Providence, RI; 2 grandsons, Nicholas Goncalves and Henrique J. Gonsalves, III of Onset; a great grandson, Devaughn Goncalves of Onset; several nephews and nieces. His sister, Eugenia Periera predeceased him.
His funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008 from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., (Rte.28), Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Wareham. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
