George R. Gomes 

GOMES, GEORGE R., 91, of Eudora Street, died Saturday. He was the husband of Maria DaSilvia.

He was a merchant marine for many years and was a member of the Cape Verdean Club in East Providence.

He leaves his children: Joyce, Jan, Saul, Monica and Alice Gomes, Chelsea Georgalas, Cecelia Bessette and Helena Simmons as well as 18 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was the brother of John and Ronald Gomes.

The funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home 230 Waterman St., Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial in St Patrick's Church, Smith St., at 10:30. Burial will be in North Burial Ground.
