| Adelina Oleveira Gomes | | | Adelina Oleveira Gomes BROCKTON Adelina Oleveira Gomes, 87, of Brockton, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, in Brockton. She was the beloved soul mate of the late Antonio Silva Soares. Born Feb. 22, 1921, in Brava, Cape Verde, she was a daughter of the late Fortunato Gomes and Constance Oleveira. Mrs. Gomes came to Brockton in 1971, where she had been a communicant of St. Edith Stein Parish. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for her family and other relatives and friends. She is survived by her children, Napoleon Soares and his wife Jaqueline, Maria Lopes and her husband Hilario, Autilia Collazo, Benilde Andrade, Laurinda Monteiro, Matilda Fortes and her husband Paulo, Phoebe Soares and her husband Sammy and Connie Sousa and her husband Kenneth. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Saturday, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Edward/St. Edith Stein Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
