BOSTON (AP) - Police say unidentified assailants shot five people in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood, killing a 19-year-old woman.

Three people were rushed to Boston Medical Center for treatment before police arrived early Sunday, where the mother to a 15-month-old child was pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

Her 18-year-old sister and a 30-year-old man were each treated for multiple gunshot wounds. Police say they suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Two other men, aged 20 and 23, were taken to Brigham & Women's Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Police withheld the identities. Media reports, however, identified the dead woman as Alexandra Gomes.

Police are investigating the motive and circumnstances surrounding the shootings at Elder Street.
