JOHN G. BRITTO 

 NEW BEDFORD -- John G. Britto, 82, of Fairhaven died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, at the New Bedford Health Care Center. He was the husband of Lucille B. (Barros) Britto of Fairhaven. 
 Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Gregory and Maria (Duarte) Britto, he moved to Fairhaven in 1972. 
 Mr. Britto was employed by Aerovox Corp., and later by the former Warner Bros. Construction, in the plant stone crusher division and on road sites until his retirement in 1983. He also traveled to Hopkinton for specialized training during his employment. 
 He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church. 
 He attended night school and New Bedford Vocational majoring in automotive repair. 
 He received his honorable discharge from the Coast Guard as a Merchant Marine from Dec. 7, 1941, to Dec. 31, 1946. 
 He was a jazz enthusiast and amateur photographer as well as auto mechanic. 
 Survivors include his widow; two sons, Ricardo "Ric" Britto of New Bedford and Randall "Randy" and his wife, Polly, of Glendale, Ariz.; a daughter, Sharon T. DeSilva of Providence, R.I.; three grandchildren, Tracy DeSilva, Gina DeSilva and Jesse Royster all of Providence; four great grandchildren; a brother, Walter Cruz, and his wife, Eva, of New Bedford; and two sisters-in-law, Elaine and Tony Santos of New Bedford and June and her late husband Bill Davis of Michigan. 
 Arrangements are by Aubertine-Lopes Funeral Home, 129 Allen Street.
