"Neen" Britto, 82, of New Bedford died at home Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, surrounded by his family after a long illness. Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Antonio and Cecelia M. (Ramos) Britto, he lived in this area all his life. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Mr. Britto had been a floorboy at U.S. Ringbinder. He was a member of the Cape Verdean Veterans, the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 7, and a past member of the American Legion Post 1. He served in the Army during World War II and attained the rank of private. Survivors include a sister, Pauline Miranda of New Bedford, and several nieces, nephews and godchildren. He was the brother of the late Evaristo Britto and Phillip Britto and uncle of the late Benjamin Miranda. His funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Assumption Church with burial in St. John Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. |
