Paul N. Barrett

 NEW BEDFORD -- Paul N. Barrett, 73, of New Bedford, died Monday, Dec. 30, 1996, at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Anna V. (Ramos) Barrett. 
 Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Carl and Virginia (Nunes) Barrett. 
 He lived in the city all of his life and was a member of the International Church of the Nazarene. 
 Mr. Barrett was employed by Revere Copper and Brass until his retirement. Previously he had been employed as a supervisor at Red-L Foods for 15 years. 
 He was a member and treasurer of the Young Cape Verdean Athletic Association and a member of the United Social Club. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. 
 Survivors, in addition to his wife, include five sons, Paul Barrett Jr., Steven C. Barrett, Douglas Barrett, Eli Barrett and Paul Silveira, all of New Bedford; six daughters, Pearl Stendzis, Diane Barrett Duarte, Virgina Mary Barrett, Deborah Barrett Gilmette, Mary Barrett and Leah Barrett, all of New Bedford; a brother, Antone Barrett of New Bedford; four sisters, Mary Baptiste, Gloria Gomes and Lorraine Ferguson, all of New Bedford, and Vivian Pina of West Wareham; 31 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. 
 He was the father of the late David Barrett, Bruce Barrett and Timothy Barrett and the brother of the late Joseph Barrett and Grace DeBarros. 
 Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St.
