He was the widower of Catherine Mary (Bryant) Britto. Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joseph and Micaila (Lima) Britto, he was educated in New Bedford schools and attended the Campbell Business School, New Bedford. He attended the Baptist Church of All Nations in Taunton. Before his retirement, Mr. Britto was employed from September 1971 to April 1973 as an auditor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Revenue. He worked for a total of 25 years for the state and also worked for Shuster Co. in New Bedford years ago. He was a World War II Army veteran serving as a Technician 3rd Grade in the Pacific. He also served in the Army Reserves from 1946 to 1958 and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a founding member of the Cape Verdean Veterans Association, New Bedford. Survivors include his daughter, Micaila R. Britto of Taunton; a son, Gary Correia of North Dartmouth; four grandchildren; and his companion, Beverly Costa of Taunton. His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Baptist Church of All Nations, Winthrop Street, Route 44 West. Burial will be in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Bridgewater.
