Teixeira, 56, of Liberty Street died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Avelena (Barros) Teixeira. Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Francisco J. and Emily (Martin) Teixeira, he lived in the area most of his life. Mr. Teixeira owned Chicken City in Middletown, R.I. He also worked for the Acushnet Company Rubber Division. He attended Bethel A.M.E. Church. A Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a member of the Masons Union Lodge 4. Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Michelle Brittany of New Bedford; a son, Joseph Teixeira of Washington, D.C.; a granddaughter, Teana Brittany of New Bedford; and several cousins. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St.; burial will be in Rural Cemetery. |
