Lars Monia, a former CCS student, recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 16. Lars's Eagle Scout project involved installing a flag pole at CCS.  He also landscaped around the flag pole. Lars is a senior at Cape Central High School.  Congratulations, Lars! And thank you for your hard work!

Paige Keifner, a former CCS student, had a special opportunity to  participate in the closing worship service during the Lutheran Youth Gathering in New Orleans this summer!  More than 25,000 people attended the Gathering.  Paige was 1 of 100 students selected to sing in the Superdome and she was chosen to sing a solo!  This was the largest audience Paige has performed for and admits she was a little nervous.  "All I could think was-don't think about the crowd-just sing."

Congratulations, Paige!

Former CCS student, Kris Cook, went on his third mission trip this summer.  He's been to Mexico, but this was his second trip to El Salvador.  As well as spreading the Gospel, Kris and his group helped teach students in public schools the fundamentals of basketball and some English. Kris says, "I really enjoy these trips so much - the kids are really receptive to our message.  It was great to be able to apply what I've been learning at Saxony in religion and Spanish classes and make an impact in a new place."  He also says that all students should "find things you enjoy doing, but don't let other things slip.  Be well-rounded."

“Attending Cape Christian School has given me the foundation that I needed to succeed. It helped me to become the person I am today!  Not only did it help me build my personal relationship with Christ, the Curriculum at Cape Christian provided me a head start in my high school subjects.  I’m so glad I was able to experience Cape Christian School K-6.  This year I am graduating high school with valedictorian honors and plan on attending Union University in Jackson, Tennessee.  Thanks, CCS!”
