Using Alternate Search Engines for Research Processes

  • Browse topics to gauge interest and timeliness.
  • Start general research to identify specific sub-topics, research angles, search terms, etc.
  • Identify discipline/topic specific areas to research and make sure to cover alternative locations beyond "the usual."
  • Make sure to search all available resources.
  • Make sure to search all available modalities of information (podcasts, videos, blogs, etc.)
  • Use topic and discipline specific research resources.
  • Search for information about specific resources to help evaluate them.

  • Make sure publication of your presentation is added to appropriate bibliographies, databases, search engines, etc
