About this site

The CHS School Council has set up this site to help keep parents informed on things that affect your child's personal and academic experience at the school.

Once a month before each School Council meeting, we'll send out an email highlighting what's coming up in the next month with links back to this site and others for more information.

The Calendar contains all of the events that you find in your child's agenda as well as other important dates, special events and announcements that may be of interest to parents.

The Announcements on this home page puts a spotlight on some of these more special events, with links to pages and websites where more information can be found.

The Parent Advisory Blog is an unofficial forum where parents are encouraged to post advice on things that they have learned through their own experiences that they wish someone had told them before.

Legal Stuff
Note that this site is not officially sanctioned by either CHS or the OCDSB.  None of the information found on this site or in the blog should be interpreted as coming from CHS or the OCDSB unless clearly stated somewhere in the text.  Take everything simply as advice from fellow parents who are just trying to help, and verify anything before making any important decisions that might affect your child's education or well being.

About the CHS School Council

The CHS School Council is a group of parents like you with children attending the school at all grade levels and in all programs.  We get together roughly once a month on the second Tuesday in the Library at the School to find out what's happening at the school, ask questions about things that affect our children's experience, hear sage advice from occasional guest speakers and find ways to help make the school a better place for everyone.

Meetings are open to any and all parents.  The agenda for each meeting are usually posted on this website at least a day before the meeting, and each meeting includes updates from the Principal and the teachers highlighting both past and upcoming events.  They're a great way to gain insight into what's happening at your child's school, making it easier to engage your child in conversation back home.
