The people of the Town of Canmore are being given a greater say in creating a vision for the future of the town. Residents , and any one with internet access, will be able to view a 'Virtual' model of the town and make their own suggestions about the future development of the town. The Study area of this project is the town centre surrounds 8th Street, or "Main Street" ,in Canmore. It is lined with small local shops, galleries and restaurants and beautiful views of the Three Sisters and the Rundle range.Moreover, there are some of  the oldest architecture in the town siting on this street like  The North West Mounted Police barrack which had been instated on Main Street in the 1890s. The Canmore Hotel has  over 100 years history. Now it is one of the most distinguished landmarks of the town.
