"Canberra Solar Experience" is a website dedicated to encouraging uptake of photovoltaic systems within the Australian Capital Territory. It shares a real Canberra solar installation experience. This website offers like-minded Canberrans some insight into the the process of buying and owning a photovoltaic system. Why Canberra?
On the 1st March, 2009, the ACT government enacted its Gross Feed-In Tariff legislation, originally introduced by Mick Gentlemen. The Gross Feed-In Tariff pays home owners a premium price for electricity produced by solar power. At the time of writing this, the Gross Feed-In Tariff pays 50.05 cents for each kilowatt hour. This rate is guaranteed for 20 years. It provides some certainty for home owners thinking about investing in a photovoltaic system.
