Camp Take Notice

Collaboration. Ownership. Citizenship. Self-Governance. Interdependence. Transformation.

A grassroots tent community

of homeless people currently residing in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It is one of Ann Arbor’s first grassroots tent community, and it works in partnership with MISSION.

The self-governing tent community offers an alternative approach to the traditional government and private systems that provide shelter and basic resources for the homeless. CTN’s emphasis on community among camp members and faith-based organizations is what sets it apart from other services. The idea is that this type of homegrown effort is necessary for sustainably meeting the needs of Ann Arbor’s homeless.

Vision

to provide a safe, sober and drug-free tent city, where the homeless population can receive food and shelter. CTN encourages ownership and citizenship within the community; campers believe that the values of interdependence and self-governance in a community like this mean that it can respond quickly and efficiently to changes in needs.
