What is Camp Givah?

Machaneh Givah is not just any Camp, if you were to think of your favorite place to be or your favorite vacation, then you're getting close.  Some words to desciribe Givah are "FUN," "EXCITING," "MEMORABLE," and many more!

Camp Givah is a co-ed Jewish day camp offering a complete recreational program with a strong commitment to Jewish education in an informal setting.  Camp Givah provides a warm, safe environment infused with ruach, friendship and Torah study.  Camp Givah strengthens the cultural and spiritual identity of our campers.   Our carefully selected staff  act as role models for leadership skills and cooperative relationships.

At Camp Givah, sports, music, nature, arts, boating, dance, instructional and free swim, Judaism (including daily tefilot and birkat hamazon at meals), and more are combined in an exciting program that serves children and teens from ages 3 to 15.

Open since 1959, Camp Givah was established by Shraga Arian z’l, a nationally renowned Jewish educator.

The camp operates on a breathtaking 250 acres in the Helderberg Mountains (20 miles from Albany).   Our facilities include miles of hiking trails, a private lake, kosher kitchen, outdoor swimming pool and playing fields.

Our program includes a day trip to a local amusement park, a ropes course and rock-wall, bouncy bounce, pedal boats, and overnights at camp featuring barbecue dinners, bonfires and evening swims.   We have theme days including our Camp Carnival, Color War, Israeli Food Day, Tikun Olam, and weekly sports tournaments.  Highlighting the summer is our annual Zimriyah/Rikudiah (Israeli Song & Dance Festival).
