  • Denoting, relating to, or operated by a liquid moving in a confined space under pressure
  • Of or relating to the science of hydraulics
  • of or relating to the study of hydraulics; "hydraulic engineer"
  • (of cement) Hardening under water

  • A membranous fold in a hollow organ or tubular structure, such as a blood vessel or the digestive tract, that maintains the flow of the contents in one direction by closing in response to any pressure from reverse flow
  • device in a brass wind instrument for varying the length of the air column to alter the pitch of a tone
  • control consisting of a mechanical device for controlling the flow of a fluid

A breaker, often referred to as a "hoe ram" or "ho rammer", is used at the Kansas City Southern site for demolition work. A breaker is a powerful percussion hammer fitted to an excavator for demolishing concrete structures or rocks. It is powered by an auxiliary hydraulic system from the excavator, which is fitted with a foot-operated valve for this purpose. Additionally, demolition crews employ the hoe ram for jobs too large for jack hammering or areas where blasting is not possible due to safety or environmental issues. ©Louisiana DOTD/Owen Murphy
Abandoned Excavator and Dump Truck
Abandoned Excavator and Dump Truck
Very difficult to see due to the foliage. There is a large excavator and dump truck abandoned for at least 20 years. They're next to a house that appears to never have been occupied since it was built.
