The Zeca-Flex was made by Zeh-Camera-Fabrik in Dresden and was one of a small breed of folding twin lens reflexes. What differentiated it from other folding TLRs, like the Welta Perfekta and Superfekta, was the way it used viewing and taking lenses of different focal lengths. This enabled the viewing lens to sit at around 4cm behind the taking lens. Because the focal length of the viewing lens was shorter than that of the taking lens, the two were mechanically linked so that the upper lens moved by a smaller amount than the lower one during focusing. This meant the viewing screen could be made smaller than the negative size and, in turn, that meant a much flatter package when the camera was folded.
