Known originally just as the Contaflex, collectors today refer to it as the Twin Lens Contaflex to differentiate it from the SLRs of the same name. It was made by Zeiss Ikon in 1936 and was one of a small breed of twin lens reflexes designed for 35mm film. Standard lenses were 50mm f/2 or f/1.5 Sonnars or a 50mm f/2.8 Tessar. Also available were a 35mm f/4.5, 85mm f/2, 85mm f/4 and 135mm f/4. It was the first camera with a built-in photo electric exposure meter. Return to home page |
