The Rittreck was made in Japan in 1956 and advertised as the world’s most versatile single lens reflex. It was a medium format camera that could handle four different formats on 120 rollfilm using two different backs – 6 x 9 cm, 6 x 7 cm, 6 x 6 cm and 6 x 4.5 cm. One back was for 6 x 9 cm and the second one could be converted for the other three formats with masks and an ingenious frame counter built into the back. The standard lens was a 10.5cm f/3.5 Musashino Koki Luminant. Also available were a 50mm f/4.5, 135mm f/4.5, 180mm f/4.5, 210mm f/6.3 and a 300mm f/5.6. Close focusing could be achieved by reversing the lens board to mount the lens further from the film plane and accessories included a set of extension tubes. It is pictured here with its 300mm f/5.6 Tele-Luminant lens and the 6 x9 film back in place. Return to home page |
