Summer Training

Monday training sessions over the summer (June-August) will be changing to 8.15pm - 9.15pm. Still indoors so no need to check the weather forecast. Back to 2 hours in September ready for next season.

2008/9 Phoenix Korfball Club Awards

At a fun-packed end of season do at the Castle Inn, the following trophies were awarded to the following people for the 2008/9 CKA korfball season:

            Phoenix 1: Corinne Bowes        Phoenix 2: Howard Laffling    
            Phoenix 3: Oscar Gillepsie        Phoenix 4: Simon Adcock
 
Club Awards
 
            Most Improved Male Player: James Green
            Most Improved Female Player: Abby Wei
            New Player: Alison Reed
            Club Person of the Year: Lucy Purser
 

P3 Stay Up in Division 2

Phoenix 3 comfortably survived the CKA League Div2/3 playoff game against Vikings 3 on the 16th May, which meant extra celebration at the end of season that evening.

End of 2008/9 Season P1 Round Up

Phoenix 1 come 6th in the CKA League Division 1, narrowly avoiding the Div 1/2 playoff game thanks to Tigers 2 beating Uni 1 8-6 in the final game of the season. Thanks to Nat to having the nerve and popping in to find out the final score for us.

Stingers Tournament

Phoenix came joint 7th at the 2009 Stingers Tournament in Norwich, braving sun, wind and rain.

Vicki's Leaving Us

Vicki is leaving Phoenix to go back to her homeland of Canada in early December. Much as we don't want to let her go, we wish her all the best in her new job in Vancouver. We'll miss you Vicki, keep in touch.
