The GWN is an evening during which two women who have achieved prominence in their fields share the experience of how they got there. Those who attend are able to explore different possibilities of career choice upon graduation, as well as meet many other women, creating a network of women. All women are welcome to attend: from every level of education and from inside and outside of the University.

GWN speakers are dynamic, inspiring, and down-to-earth. Each evening features women who have excelled in academia and industry/enterprise, so the various possibilities and choices are highlighted.

The GWN was started up in 2005 by Caren Weinberg, and has flourished with her energy and vision. Members of the Graduate Union and CUSU Women's Union have contirbuted to the organisation of the event, and invaluable support comes from BusinessLink and the Gates Foundation.
