Middle School Physical Education

PE Requirements and Grading

Students will be Graded with letter grades, just like all of their classes

 

I.                  Fitness Testing- Presidential Fitness (25%)

This is based on national average and self-improvement for the following four areas:

1.     Mile Run

2.     Bent Knee Sit ups             (These are quarterly tests)

3.     Flexibility (sit and reach)

4.     Pull up Test

 

II.               Sports Skills Testing (25%)

Skills tests are given for each sport or activity played in each unit, generally 4-5 tests that measure skills required to be successful in the sport at hand

 

III.           Attitude, Attendance, Participation, Effort (35%)

This is based on the following criteria:

1.     Christian attitude and sportsmanship

2.     Proper Dress EVERYDAY-PE uniform, socks, and athletic shoes

3.     Effort and improvement!

4.     Attendance and Participation

5.     Cooperation-help others, set up and pick up

 

IV.            Homework, Assignments, Reports (15%)

Homework, just like any other class, must be turned in on time and completed for full credit.

Reports and Assignments will be assigned for different units we cover.

 

Sports Covered:

Volleyball, Flag Football, Soccer, Basketball, Fitness Days, Cross Country, Healthy Eating,

Track and Field, Softball, Game Days
