The mission of the Center for Science, Technology, and Society is to research and promote the use of science and technology for the common good. It fulfills this mission by contributing to the educational experience of students through participation in the university's new Core Curriculum; providing training opportunities for "social entrepreneurs"; supporting faculty in their research and teaching of Science, Technology, and Society (STS) courses; and organizing a variety of events on campus that inform and enlighten the campus community and the general public. The Center for Science, Technology, and Society is focused around three major activity areas: Social Entrepreneurship, Public Engagement, and Education.
