"What, exactly, was a naturalist? I wasn't sure, but I decided to spend the rest of my summer being one. If all it meant was writing about what you saw around you, I could do that. Besides, now that I had my own place to write things down, I saw things I'd never noticed before"  (The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate, Kelly, pg. 8-9).

The summer is almost here and the great outdoors is in full bloom! If you take a look around, I'm sure you'll notice all the flowers, rabbits, and pollen floating about. You just finished readingThe Evolution of Calpurnia Tate by Jacqueline Kelly where you met Callie Vee herself and joined her as she became a naturalist!

Have you every kept a journal of the things you see every day? Have you ever wrote down the day the tulips bloomed or how many hours a day your dog sleeps? Did you ever think you could be a naturalist just like Calpurnia Tate? You can!

During this webquest, you will start the journey to becoming a naturalist. Just like Calpurnia Tate, you'll start a journal of your observations. Then, you'll show us what you noticed after journaling for one month. At the end of our journey, you'll be well on your way to becoming a naturalist.
