Me: I am a fifth year Materials Engineering student. I was born in Mexico and raised in Escondido, CA. I am the first in my family of seven to go to college. I have been active in SHPE for one year and in Winter 2008 I took the opportunity to tutor at Laguna Middle School. Now I am happy to be here as your Second Vice President in charge of outreach for this chapter. In addition to SHPE, I am also a proud brother of Lambda Theta Phi. Some of the things I enjoy are desert trips, hiking, running and swimming, as well as having some crazy workouts a couple times a week. I will be graduating Spring 2009 so I hope to make this year the year for us, and expect every one of you to come and help. We are all a part of the SHPE familia. |

It's important that you guys record your volunteering hours in the MEP outreach bulletin board. I have updated the bulletin board so that you can log in any SHPE volunteer event that you participate in. You can always email me with any SHPE event you participate as well.
ACE Tutoring - Every Day. Make a difference and tutor students at Laguna Middle School. Attached is the schedule. For those of you new to tutoring, please email me if you have any questions so that we can get you started. Either way contact me or Andrea Blancoablanco@slcusd.org to tutor.

Campus tour followed by student panel
Position Description:
Coordinate outreach events such as campus tours, tutoring, and high school engineering competitions as well as encourage continued volunteering among SHPE members.
