I know for certain dialing in the number works and have not quite figured out how the link works but those more familiar with Google voice probably know how to use it!

Google wrote this about their new VOICE service and since I am just learning it too I am adding it here and also a link to their page about it: "Welcome to Google Voice! Google Voice gives you a single phone number that rings all your phones, saves your voicemail online, and transcribes your voicemail to text. Other cool features include the ability to listen in on messages while they are being left and the ability to make low cost international calls. To start enjoying Google Voice, just give out your Google Voice number. You can record custom greetings for your favorite callers or block annoying callers by marking them as SPAM. Just click on the settings link at the top of your inbox. We hope you enjoy Google Voice"[end google quote]
8:14 AM 7/13/2009 ; I still have my other phones so not to worry but this is a method that I HOPE will help my very young grandchildren [and really anybody trying to get in touch with me ]  be able to call me by clicking a button. Jennifer, and Leigh, my daughters, I tested it sort of, and I think when you click the above link another page opens [to be more safe] and there is telephone image and you click that and there are boxes to type in name and number. When I tested this on my own phone before, it worked by Google ringing my phone and then when I answered it rang your phone and then connected the call or tried too. I got your voice mail. Experiment because not sure if the name and number you enter is your own or mine, since Google knows mine and system is 'set up' but since you all have more than one phone and so do I you may have to tell it which phone to ring for you, and of course you have to have the handset in your hand. The google connection shows on caller id as a 615 number then you answer then other person [me in this case answers] then call connected. I think this will help us since all of us spend a good bit of time at computers and it provides what must be similar to VOip and seems to work. Maybe you could test it there and then write down what to enter on a notecard and tape it to computer for the little kids. Teagan and Bismark both could find letters on keyboard, and of course that would be easy for Samuel and Lydia who are acquiring good computer skills!  Then maybe you won't use up all your minutes and have a second line to make/recieve calls. I like google and they have been good to me and I think their services are very valuable to the world now so people anywhere could call or communicate with family, friends, etc.  And I think but not sure that it might work as well with telephone headset into dsl so try that and then frees up your cell and your other handset. Anyway, I reason it is worthwhile since it seems to work. Also it has the capability of ringing all your phones [in sequence or simultaneously I think] and there could be times when that was a real advantage!  I added in your numbers to my login page for it. See the about for more info at this link below:

Call me page for Samuel, Lydia, Teagan, Bismark and Galatea my grandchildren and for Jennifer and Leigh who are my daughters; plus drawing 'pad" for my GRAND-children! and a clock thrown in for good measure. And Samuel and Lydia a timer for you to time those chores so you could play! Add the minutes in the timer below and then see how fast you could get your chores done before the timer goes off. And look up a word quick in the Dictionary -it is important that you spell correctly. I think educated people spell!
