Now in its 17th year, the DU Law Stars dinner honors alumni and friends of the Sturm College of Law who have made extraordinary contributions to legal profession. Held on October 1, 2009, at the Hyatt Denver Convention Center, the event raised much needed funds for the Student Law Office and the DU Law General Scholarship Fund. The 2009 DU Law Stars Honorees: Sheldon Smith, JD’73/LLM’80 (Outstanding Alumni Award); Lisa Hogan, JD’84 (Alumni Professionalism Award); Professor Roberto Corrada (Robert B. Yegge Excellence in Teaching Award); and Justice Patricio M. Serna, JD’70 (Thomson G. Marsh Award).

Laws California the base of operations for the Southern Pacific narrow gauge railroad that ran down the length of the Owens Valley. The last operating section of the old Carson & Colorado railroad Now run as a museum just outside of Bishop, the last train ran here in 1960. Now this turntable has been rebuilt and some new track laid down. They have rebuilt the Death Valley car and it may run into Bishop. This turntable has been the basis for a few reproductions one is at the Nevada State Railway Museum and another the Orange Empire's Ward Kimball Collection.
