100% Townie

I am from laundry chairs

and laundry stairs

Prescription Meds, two bathrooms and

alarm clocks with broken snooze buttons.

I am from the mail box

and a hand me down grill

next to a broken fire escape.

I am from shamrocks and Claddagghs,

a thin red line directing tourists

St Francis at the top of Bunker Hill,

the Projects at the bottom.

Sullivan Square and Community College

I am from Mom’s Meatloaf

and her lasagna

asking how high to jump

and because I said so.

I am from Aunt Peggy showing the Bishop
Rose.

After dinner parties on Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.

I am from Charlestown. 100% Townie.
