A brief intro
I am a graduate student from Brazil, currently starting getting onto research and divulgation activities in the fields of evolutionary neuroscience and comparative psychology. I graduated in Psychology in 2008, at UNESP/Bauru, in the state of São Paulo, and moved to UFPA, in the state of Pará, to complete my Masters and begin my research career under the guidance of Dr. Amauri Gouveia Jr. I develop
research on the evolutionary history of the brain, as well as the
evolution of behavior. To do so, I rely on a triad of evolutionary
biology, behavioral neuroscience, and philosophy of mind and biology.
My goal is to contribute to the understanding of the evolutionary
patterns and processes which generated some of the behavioral functions
which are present in vertebrates today; my main interest is in
emotional behavior, but I have developed research in other fields of
evolutionary behavioral neuroscience. Besides my research lines, I also concentrate on a science blog, Principles of Neurobiotaxis, dedicated to the field of evolutionary behavioral neuroscience. More information on my inquiry lines, along with links to my papers, can be found in Research and Publications and the associated fields indicated in the sidebar.
