I teach Latin, Greek, and Classical Studies at Dickinson College, where I have been since 1996. From 1993 to 1996 I
taught at Swarthmore College. My specialties are Roman literature and culture, and Greek mythography. I have
written about Ovid, Catullus, and Parthenius of Nicaea. My book on Roman culture and the Latin language, Ancient Rome in So Many Words, appeared in 2007 with Hippocrene Press. I produce an occasional series of podcasts on Latin poetry, and direct a series of professional development workshops for Latin teachers, the Dickinson Latin Workshop. My teaching interests include Classical Mythology, Roman social history,
and the Latin and Greek languages. I was educated at the University of
Texas at Austin (MA, 1989; PhD, 1993); Oberlin College (BA, 1987) and Boston University. I grew up in Ithaca, New York and now live with my family in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. |
