A couple of my adventures: Click on the underlined words (hyperlinks) below to learn more about these places/things. South America: Iguazu Falls, Argentina We were so close to the falls here we were getting soaked! This is a cool picture because you can see a little boat in the middle...I had just been on that boat a few minutes before. (see below) This boat took us right up to the base of the falls, where the water was spraying us so hard it knocked one of my contact lenses out! The last two pictures are not mine, but they help show you where the boat took us when we went up to the waterfall. Yosemite: On the way up Half Dome, Yosemite (extremely steep!) Heading down from the top of Half Dome, Yosemite (the rails help you get up and down, but you can see that they disappear in the distance because it gets soooo steep!) That's me out on the edge of Half Dome If you are wondering if this activity (hike up to Half Dome) is dangerous or not...read this: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31348114/ns/us_news-life YES...it's extremely dangerous, but 1000's of people do it safely every year. It is dangerous when people don't follow the rules, and especially when they don't follow the advice of the park rangers there. Sequoia National Park: Giant Sequoia tree...one of the largest trees in the world This tree survived a forest fire, and they cut out some of the burned out parts at the base of the tree. |
