Head Coach:
Christine Pelham Christine started coaching in this area as Head Coach of the USS swim team program at the Mystic
Community Center. Under her guidance, the program saw its largest numbers ever, and placed 9th in the state in
USS competition amongst 43 teams. Christine then moved on to
co-found the Camel Swim Club with Connecticut College Head Coach Marc
Benevenuti. The Camel Swim Club was a very successful program it produced age group,
senior and zone champions. In 2004 Christine Pelham was
named Connecticut's Age Group Coach of the Year. She left Camel to become the Assistant Men's and Women's Coach of Southern Connecticut State University. Under Head Coach Tim Quill, she developed her recruiting skills and coached the award winning Sonoco swim team. Christine Pelham has developed age group, senior, sectional, and junior national qualifiers. Her recruiting knowledge aids many swimmers wishing to swim in college find the right place for them. Christine served 10 years on the Connecticut Swimming Board of Directors as both Coach Representative and Coach at Large. She was a USASC delegate for 8 years.
Christine presently holds a position on the USA National Age Group Development Committee and the National Board of Review.
Assistant Coaches:
Cathy Quatrommani Cathy Quatromanni has been involved with swimming since she swam competitively for the
Westerly Y, where she was a member of the leaders club and team
captain. She was a integral member of coaching staff at Mystic Community Center during USS'
developmental years, building the program and helping it reach its highest level. Cathy aided in establishing the Camel Swim Club where she coached all age groups successfully. A trained nurse Cathy oversees all correct safety concerns for CAC. She brings technical experience and parental perspective having raised a daughter through Connecticut Swimming to D1 college swimming.Lawrence Chan Lawrence Chan has been swimming competitively since 8 years old. He started swimming for the Cross Island YMCA's Barracudas, who were led by Coach Peter
Scala. He swam all four years in high school, two of which he was captain. Lawrence swam for all four years at Tufts University. Adam Hoyt coached Tuft's swim team, and under Hoyt, Lawrence
became a champion breast stroker, and medaled in the NESCAC Conference Championships more
than once. Lawrence has also coached for three summers at USSC swim camps run by Ron Good in Mt Holyoke, Ma.
Annie
Weeks Annie started swimming at age 10, she swam on two USS club teams, the
Mystic Community Center and Camel Swim Team. She swam all four years
for Fitch High School, earning three varsity letters. In 2004, Annie
broke the 100 breaststroke record at Fitch, made All-State in the 200
Free and 200 Medley Relay and won the Coaches' Award. Recruited
to swim at Saint Joseph College, Annie placed in all breaststroke
events at the 2008 New England Championships. In 2009, she was part
of the record setting 200 and 400 medley relay teams and the 200, 400
and 800 freestyle relay teams. Annie Weeks was a co-captain for three
years at St. Josephs' and most valuable player for two.
