SWIM-A-THON 2012

posted Jan 10, 2012 5:29 AM by Connecticut Aquatic Club Swimming

On February 12th, 2012, CAC in partnership with USA Swimming will hold its annual SWIM-A-THON® in which over 40 local swimmers will swim up to 200 lengths or up to 2 hours to raise money for this community-based swim team. The money raised helps fund our primary and most critical expense - pool rental fees. The last Swim-A-Thon was the most successful fundraiser for the club thanks to the generosity of many local businesses.

Sponsorship of CAC Swimming provides visibility for your business and a special bond with the swimmers and families. Your donation is tax deductible.  Donations of any amount are appreciated and all sponsors will be recognized on our team website. Donations in the range of $100 - $250 are customary; however, any amount is greatly appreciated.

If you or your business is interested in donating, please mail your tax deductible donation payable to "Connecticut Aquatic Club" to the following address:

    Connecticut Aquatic Club

    Attn: Swim-A-Thon

    16 Timber Ridge Dr

    Pawcatuck, CT 06379

For any questions, please contact Doug Rea, Swim-A-Thon Chairman, at 860.303.2548 or via e-mail at drea_bus@comcast.net.

SWIM-A-THON

CAC has scheduled our most important fundraiser, the Swim-a-Thon, for February 12th, 2012. Last year was a great success and we hope for the same this upcoming year! There is a mandatory parents organizational meeting January 5th, 2012. A brief summary of how it works is listed below. For more information, refer to the Swim-A-Thon Parent Handbook on the website.

Objectiveraise money for the club. This money will be used to assist in pool rental costs, our largest expense.

Pledging:

    a. All swimmers are expected to participate by obtaining pledges now through February.

    b. NOTE - ALL checks are payable to the team “Connecticut Aquatic Club”

    c. Pledge achievement chart is posted on deck listing swimmers by team.

    d. Prizes will be awarded for highest earners, individual and team.

Sponsorship:

a. We are asking both individuals and businesses to sponsor the swimmers.

b. CAC Donation letter and Sponsor Pledge Form are available here. These forms can be used with sponsor businesses to explain the Swim-A-Thon and ensure proper credit is given to swim families for acquiring the business as a sponsor. These businesses and families will be posted on the website.
