Nestled in Union, the smallest town in Connecticut, is our little piece of Heaven. A little Log Cabin with chickens and our horse of 25 years, Calvin's dwarf bunnies, and a menagerie of other pets. And, of course, our small herd of Nigerian Dwarf Goats. I'm told that every Nigerian goat family has a story, and so it is with us. I convinced my husband that our horse needed a companion and we soon came home with a little doe who was expecting twins ;) Fanny, our first goat, and later her twin does were a never ending source of joy and amusement. I soon met my best goat buddy Lorene Toth of Sunnydale Farm, and started tagging along to goat shows. It didn't take long and the kids and I were hooked! My poor husband still tells people that he's not sure how this all happened :)
So now our goal is simple. To breed the best quality Nigerian Goats we can, from stock from the finest farms that we can aquire. We intend to keep our herd small so that every goat gets as much love and attention it deserves and we can still keep it fun. I encourage anyone who falls in love with these wonderful creatures to join a club, get out there and go to a few shows. Learn how to milk a goat.....make soap....ice cream...have a ball!
