Welcome to the Bredhurst WI website Our meetings are held at Bredhurst Village Hall (Map) on the second Wednesday of each month starting at 7:30pm and finishing by 10.00pm. Currently the annual subscription is £30 which is used to cover hire of the hall, speakers for our meetings and a contribution to the West Kent Federation and Nation Federation. Members also receive the magazine "WI Life", produced by the National Federation of Women's Institutes (NWFI), which is delivered by post to members doors eight times a year. Our WI has approximately 80 members, with a wide range of ages represented, and we currently have a waiting list for membership. If you are interested in joining, but would like to find out more, you are still very welcome to come along to three meetings as a visitor. Our committee consists of President, Secretary, Treasurer and up to nine members who take on various tasks under the headings of Home Economics, Arts & Craft, Sports & Leisure, Public Affairs & International, Performing Arts and District. Our monthly meetings begin traditionally with the singing of "Jerusalem". Following this there are reports to members from County and National Federations and from our own committee. We then have a guest speaker followed by refreshments and closing business. We have a competition each month, the topic is shown on the programme. As well as the monthly meetings, we have other activities such as walking, reading, scrabble and craft groups. Members can also participate in events organised by the District and County We hope that the information on this site will be informative and
