These shoes confuse me. I think they're pretty ugly. I don't feel cute when I wear them. I bought them when I was in physical therapy and transitioning from chronic hip and back pain to the new, better me who wears a heel lift in her left shoe. (I have one leg longer than the other but didn't do anything about it until I was in my 40s, so it took some time to adjust to fixing it with orthotics and in the meantime my physical therapist advised me to get some flat, well-padded comfortable shoes and do lots of walking. And so I got some Danskos.) Here's what confuses me, though. Every time I wear these someone says they're cute. Not only girls whom I don't know and are cute but whose fashion-sense is different from mine, but cute boys whose taste I appreciate, like Marco and Gus. But really, look at them. They're not so cute. Also, purple and red? What was I thinking? I think they qualify as what Evany would call docent shoes, or maybe beauty-supply-store-girl shoes. I think I should have bought them in black. But man, they are so freaking comfortable. It's unbelievable. So I sometimes still wear them on a day like today when I have lots and lots of walking to do. But I feel like if I ever start wearing them all the time, it will be my version of giving up and wearing a track suit. However, I am open to finding a pair of Danskos in black that might tread the line between cute and functional/compromise. What do you think? Are these fugly?

For the CWD assignment Clones and also for my YIP today. It is my personal goal to not combine YIP's with other projects but today is my last day of an almost 2 week vaca and my last weekend day alone with Dave for several weeks, so I want to spend it with him and not in front of the computer anymore. This took a while but my first attempt took longer so I do not want anything to do with photography or photoshop til tomorrow :-) Also this gave me a chance to show off some of my new socks! The 3 middle pairs are 3 of 5 new pairs of socks Dave got me for Christmas from my favorite place, Sock Dreams, and he also gave me a gift card, which I spent last week and am hoping the stuff arrives tomorrow! I also love shoes, as some of you know. When I worked at Nordstrom I topped out at about 240 pair of shoes (and I would donate a bunch 2x a year, as some were seasonal and too trendy for me to keep) but now I hover around 60. Most of the ones in here are very old actually, except for the burgundy oxfords (#2) and the red heels (#6, if going L-R) they were bought for me by Dave and Dave's sister Kath, respectively!
