Butterfly Garden Bulletin
This week at a glance
Another awesome week in the Butterfly Garden!! This week, we began our unit of study on Thanksgiving. We have learned many facts about this holiday - ask your child to share them! We enjoyed talking about our traditions and comparing them to traditions of the past. We planted maize and made predictions on whether or not it would grow and learned many new vocabulary words about this holiday. We have also enjoyed reading in a t-pee that is now in our reading corner.
Next week
Next week, we will continue our unit on Thanksgiving. The children will be making butter from buttermilk and seeing how liquid transforms into a solid. They will also be preparing their costumes for the feast and our performance. In math, we will be comparing and ordering objects as well as working on number partners. In writing, we continue to work on writing several sentences on one topic with detailed pictures. After the holiday, we will begin learning about small moments.

Thank you!
Thank you to so many who provided supplies for our graphing unit. Thank you to those who purchased books off my wish list from Barnes and Noble! Reminders
Don’t forget to do homework each night and to study the word lists!
We are asking all parents to help assist us in developing independence for our students. Please do not walk your child down to the classroom anymore. We are asking that you remain in your car during carpool time and allow them to go through the routine on their own. We have spoken to the children about how big and responsible they are now so they do not need their parents help! Thanks so much for helping us develop.
