Yes, I've been tagged. 1. I was born in Saginaw Michigan on March 20 1950 (Pisces) Lived in the county my whole life. 2. When I was five years old I had Rheumatic Fever and spent two weeks in the hospital. I had to get weekly shots for about three years (it hurt, lol) and take medicine for five years after. 3. At about 11 yrs I was hit by a car on my sister's bicycle. The lord was with me I only scraped my knee my sisters bike didn't fair so well. 4. I graduated from high school in 1968 and married my wife following year. We met working at Kentucky Fried Chicken. I cooked the chicken, Helen worked at the counter. We were both still kids. 5. Soon after, I was drafted in the Army spent a year in Ansbach Germany. Coming home to a son I haven't seen yet at 10 months old. 6. I was raised Lutheran, confirmed Catholic in 1976 and am active in our church. 7. I hired in General Motors three months out of school. Retired as inspector after 31+ years. 8. Went on a life changing Marriage Encounter Weekend in 1980 and stayed active in it for 10 years. (Would Recommend) 9. My favorite color is Green. My favorite season is Fall. My favorite author is Dean Koontz My favorite TV shows are NCIS and The Unit. I drink two cups of Coffee in the morning, one Samuel Adams, or other beer in the evening. 10. I don't smoke but used too until 1980 when Helen and I quit together. 11. I sometimes contribute to the state of Michigan by buying lottery tickets. 12. My hobbies are fishing, hiking and some wood craft work and of course Flickr I almost forgot that one. I also enjoy playing cards with friends. 13. My favorite place to be is in Northern Michigan, where we have lot with a trailer on Grand Lake. I've walked the five mile Mackinaw Bridge three times which is only open to walkers on Labor Day. (Don't look down) 14 We have three children two sons and one daughter. My oldest Ed jr. teaches Music Therapy at WMU, Brian helps manage a Sporting Goods store and Cindy has a degree in elementary education but choose to raise her two young kids rather than teach. We have a total of five grandchildren Eddie the fourth, Andrew, Heather, Grace and Evan. 15. I have visited these states: Arizona, Florida, NY, Virginia, Colorado, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Ohio. This spring we hope to be going to West Virginia. 16. I have been to Germany (Army). Vacationed in Spain and Switzerland while visiting our exchange students we once hosted. Went to Aruba for a week on our 25th anniversary. I recommend this for anyone. Made one short stop in Mexico while on a cruise. Helen gave me the cruise as a gift when I retired. Kaoru Robbins, MA, CMT, NRMT, Senior Music Therapist Having studied flute and piano privately as a child, Kaoru majored in flute at Kunitachi Conservatory of Music, Tokyo, 1980. She was the first Japanese music therapist to graduate from the New York University Music Therapy Program, gaining her Masters degree in 1988. She took her advanced training at the Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy in 1991-92. She has worked with both English speaking and Japanese speaking children at the Center. Since 1991, she has divided her work between the Center and an extensive private practice serving the children of Japanese speaking families in New Jersey and Westchester, New York. Her program in New Jersey also functions as a clinical training site for Japanese music therapy students. Kaoru has presented her work internationally in Japan, Lithuania, Russia, and Estonia. Her bilingual capabilities and her familiarity with Japanese culture enable her to serve the Center's continually growing connections with the emerging field of music therapy in Japan. She is the Center's Coordinator of Japanese-American Communications, maintaining active liaison with the Organization for Studying Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy in Japan (OSNRMT) and also with the Japanese community in the New York City area. In collaboration with Clive Robbins, Alan Turry and Kana Okazaki, she also coordinates a collaborative NRCMT/OSNRMT Clinical Supervision Program for music therapists in Japan. She has collaborated in the translation of the Nordoff-Robbins text Music Therapy in Special Education published by Ningen to Rekishi-sha, Tokyo, and has translated the monograph Here We Are in Music: One Year with an Adolescent, Creative Music Therapy Group by Kenneth Aigen.
