Rafting Trip

posted May 21, 2012 7:48 AM by Student Association of Graduate Engineer

SAGE is organizing a white water rafting trip for its members. The following are the trip details:

Date:

Saturday 16th June, 2012

Location:

Zoar Outdoor, Charlemont, MA. http://www.zoaroutdoor.com/drywayrafting.htm This section of the river promises truckload of fun for ALL rafters. We have had beginners and advanced rafters go on this trip on previous occasions. The feedback from both categories of rafters has been very positive!

Itinerary:

We have reserved a bus to pick us up at 7:30 am from Boston University. We reach the base at 10:30 am. Registration, rafting and wrap-up will take about 6 hours. So we get done by 4:30 pm. We then get on our bus and get back by about 7:30 pm.

Guests:

Every SAGE member who signs up for the trip is allowed to bring 1 guest (non-SAGE member) with them.

Waivers:

In order to sign up, every person on the trip NEEDS to completely fill out the TWO attached waiver forms and print them ‘2-sided’ and submit with you reservation payment. You will NOT be able to sign up without these.

Additionally, if you don’t already have it, please ensure you have the SAGE sticker on your ID. You can get it from Stephen Doherty at the Graduate Programs Office at 44 CummingtonStreet, Room 114. This will help us verify that you are a SAGE member.

Payment:

In order to reserve your spot on the trip, along with the waiver, you will need to sign up and pay in cash. Trip shall cost $65/$75 for SAGE members/guests. Please try and bring exact change. This includes the bus ride to and from the place, rafting experience, a snack stop halfway into our rafting trip and a barbecue at the end of it ! We have limited spots. The reservation is first come first served. We shall collect the waivers and cash at PHO 442 on Thursday, May 31 from noon to 2:00 pm.

If you cannot make it at any of these times or have any questions, you can contact us at sage@bu.edu and we will get back to you.

Cheers,
SAGE.

Rafting Trip

posted Jun 4, 2009 6:16 AM by Student Association of Graduate Engineer

On May 9, SAGE went on a wet n' wild adventure down the Concord River in Lowell, MA.

20 members set off down the river where boats were flipped, members were soaked, and new friendships were made while learning about the revitalization of the river.  At the end of the trip, the rafts went through the lower canal locks in Lowell, providing a unique experience.
