WELCOME to the Bethlehem Live web page!

Bethlehem live is a free, fun family friendly trip back through time to the very first Christmas.

People from more than a dozen of Bury's churches have come together to put together a Christmas present especially for you. We wanted to tell the true Christmas story in a way that was fun and engaging, whilst helping people to understand what it's really all about.

It's a story that dates back almost 20 centuries, yet countless people will tell it afresh in many different ways this Christmas. This ancient story will appear in cartoon form, films, stage plays, neon lights and Christmas cards. Yet, despite of all this, many people still don't know the real facts behind the events and the truth behind the most exciting true story every told!

What's so special?

  • Babies are born every day, many of them born wherever the parents can find shelter, so why did this one birth 2000 years ago create such a fuss?
  • Why has this simple everyday event been remembered and treasured for so long?
  • If it's just a story, why does it remain top of the best sellers list?

Why not come along and find out for yourself what it's all about?

Many people have mixed feelings about Christmas; we love the idea of a special time of year, peace on Earth and goodwill towards mankind - yet we also find ourselves trapped in what can feel like a cynical, profit driven souless consumer event - Bethlehem Live is the antidote!

Come and spend time exploring the route through the true Christmas story, see the events unfold before you and sort out the facts from the myth. The trip takes about 20 minutes, so it can easily be fitted into even the most frantic of shopping trips, so why why not treat yourself to a fresh view of Christmas this year?

You can see BETHLEHEM LIVE at Bury United Reformed Church, Parsons Lane (Opposite Tesco) from 10:30am to 4:30pm on the 13th of December. Admission free - Cafe available.
